Speaker Spotlight – Mitch MacKenzie

Mitch MacKenzie is a PHP web developer from Prince Edward Island with a bit over a decade of experience building CMS websites. As our web development toolsets continue to grow and become more complex, Mitch is interested in exploring the delicate balance between simplicity in development processes with the needs of modern web experiences.

What’s been your best experience with WordPress?

I’m a big fan of WP-CLI and have had a lot of fun automating builds of new WordPress sites.

Tell us a bit about your WordCamp Halifax talk.

The WordPress as a static website generator session will be like hopping in a time machine when we talk about the olden days of static HTML websites.

What’s your favourite thing about attending WordCamps?

Meeting folks who are new users of WordPress and hearing their early impressions and struggles.

If you could have any superhero power, what would it be?

The ability to fly would be great; travelling to a lot of far flung tech conferences around the globe would be fun.
